Who is this man?

A family group taken on the beach at Biarritz in April 1914. Who is the man? His face seems familiar to me. Any ideas?

Not sure who that man is but that kid caught my eye. He sure looks a bit bored with the photo taking. I wonder what is on his mind? :O)

Well, if there were no kid on the photo, I would have proposed Landru, the famous lady killer.

And if the lady on the photo would not look so closed up, I could guess that he is Toulouse-Lautrec.

By all means it cannot be Emile Zola, the man is to skinny.

And perhpas it is Alfred Dreyfus?

I have no idea who he is, but his shoes are very shiny for the sea-side. I wonder if he ever relaxed and took his jacket off.

He is good looking under his moustache and the long handled spade is interesting.

They look a well-off family.

"Can I go and play now Papa"

"Don't get your shoes wet or your hat dirty Christopher."

and now they've all gone

Titania: Yes, his face is a picture, who wants to have their photo taken when there is so much sand... and shells?

Peter: I'm sure it's Michael York!

henry: I noticed the shoes too. Possibly their last holiday before hell broke loose
