Remember Edna Aug?

The Lady with the Cherries. Here she is again and this time I know a little bit more about the actress. She was born in1878 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died at the age of 59 in 1938 in Willow, New York. Her father, Jake Aug, was responsible for reviving Coney Island. Not much I know, but some progress.

This post card was sent in 1904 so she was 26 at the time.

Edna Aug

I haven’t been able to find out much about Edna Aug. I think that she was probably an American actress who came to Paris. The photograph here was taken by Reutlinger in Paris around 1900, so she must have been well thought of. If anyone has more details please let me know.

A mystery house

There is no clue whatsoever as to the whereabouts of this house. Why was the photograph taken? Could it be a guesthouse in the suburbs of a tourist town? What time of day was it? What day of the week? Which year? There are roses but not too many leaves on the trees. Springtime perhaps?

Who is this man?

A family group taken on the beach at Biarritz in April 1914. Who is the man? His face seems familiar to me. Any ideas?

I must admit I'm not too keen on this card. there are no clues to the artist, the publisher or even when it was published. Anyone passing who has an idea?

Mystery car

Does anyone know what the make of this car is ? The back of the postcard is blank and the printing is in English and then French. There are no details of the publisher either. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Is your name Joly?

This card was sent to Mrs. Joly in the USA in 1918, from Orléans, by her nephew Raymond. He was on his way to camp, his hand writing is difficult but it looks as if the card was sent in December, which meant he survived the war.

If anyone comes across this and knows anything about the family please leave a comment. The big mystery for me is, how did the card get back to France?
