Cookery lesson

Not a postcard but lithography, probably included as a gift within a packet. This is N°. 3: Salt and Pepper… serious question. The colours on Lithographies are always beautiful and stand the test of time. This is the prettiest of 4 that I have to sell as a set. It dates from around 1900 as far as I can tell.

When I googles the images I found all of these

Now my kitchen feels modern even though most would scream with horror if told that they would have to work there...

These images make me think that the modern era lacks so much charm.

Indeed, such beautiful colours and artwork. In the 1970s the local newsagents sold old greetings card stock and even then they had a certain charm.

Gosh, all these cookery references from you Anji ;-)

Oh my goodness! I love this! What an excellent choice for decorating, style, a bit of impracticality mixed with a bit of charm. Thanks for this great post! Keep it up girl!

I love cooking and experimenting with recipes and trying new foods!

What fun you must have had writing this post after testing out in the kitchen!

Caroline: I used to know a family who had a kitchen from the 1930s. It must have been state of the art at the time it was put in and still looked good.

Doris: Sometimes we find old stock at auctions. Like finding gold!

Cherelyn: glad you liked it.
