The elf and the rose

Yesterday was an auction day for us. We got soaked on the way there, frozen in the auction room and our train was delayed on the way home because of problems with an unruly passenger. The cards we bought were very good though, so it was worth it. I love this one.

In France, baby girls are found at the heart of a rose and boys at the heart of a cabbage

Looks like your cold, wet day was worth it, if this card is any indication. Good luck with your sales!

Following you on ExposeYourBlog.

Is the postcard auction sale really popular Anji? I couldn't have imagined. It's a whole new world. Thanks for your blog.

A Lady's Life: I love the colours too.

DB: It was worth it in the end, more to follow.

Sue/ The auction we went to was a special collectors auction. There were posters, old toys, old cameras and other papers. We also bought some press photos with the copy written on the back

Have you had a longtime interest in postcards Anji?

Looking forward to when you have time for a new postcard post. I really love them.

I miss the times when people sent lovely postcards, even though I don't remember those times. :)

I honestly can care less about most artwork but The Elf and the Rose is awesome...

This card is so familiar. I know I have seen it before but can't remember from where.

ALadysLife: I have that feeling about the card too. Perhaps a story book?

DB: it's nearly always worth the trouble! I've put your Shoppe into my bloglist here - it fits nicely!

Jan: I understand what you mean!

Super senior: It's one of my favourites.

Sue: Rob started to collect local cards a few years ago. Then he started selling swaps which turned out to be big enough to provide me with a job nearly 4 years ago as I'd been unemployed for a while.
