Lady in a green dress

I sent this postcard as a birthday card to someone. I love the way that the dress sweeps round. I wonder what colour it was in real life.

A Lady's Life: Yes they did, though I do wonder how long they took to get ready.

My Grandmother told us part of the routine from her youth-a set of combs to comb their hair out each day because you didn't wash it all the time like we do now. The hours they spent...we would all go crazy!

That photograph is so beautiful on every level! Film would do things then that it couldn't later on, and I'm not sure digital will ever be able to!

Thank you for sharing it!

Oh I am sure not that long.
Like everything else, they knew what they were doing. I loved the way they wore their hair.
I hate going to hair dressers today cause they just dont know how to make ladies pretty even if you bring them a picture. It's pay and go.

A Lady's Life: I don't like hairdressers either. We could choose a lovely hat to go with that dress and not have to worry too much about hair...

Alan: Yes, and their were no conditioners to help keep hair tangle free. I remember my aunty using washing powder to wash her hair!
I agree with you about the quality of the photographs. They are so clear. they stand inspection with a strong magnifying glass, every detail in focus
