A lesson in focus

This postcard is possibly over 110 years old. As well as a pleasant picture which drew my eye, is the clarity of detail from the shadow of the tree on the ground to the clock on the church. (It was half past two). I wonder what the gentleman would make of being enlarged and put for everyone to see on a blog?

I don't even think he'd have the slightest idea of WHAT to think! Neat postcard!

Wow, how's that for leaving the wrong URL? I'm awesome, FYI. Also sarcastic. ;)

I know it's a tired thing to say, but beautiful old photos like this really are a window onto another wolrd, don't you think? Frozen in time forever.

Courtney: I don't suppose he'd get his head around all of this technology.

Graham: I agree. Whenever I see a card that was written just before the First World war I wonder about how little they knew about what was coming next.

Yes Graham ~ I find it a glimpse into another world...one that I wish would suddenly come to life.

Perhaps we are the last generation to experience the nostalgia that black and white photography and sepia tone give to an image.

Future generations will view us just are we really are/were

That will produce it's own emotions I guess.
