"A travelling photographer is passing through the area. Jeannic is five years old, we must have a photograph of her… but she is terrified by the man and his machine! So daddy has to be at her side. Come on Jeannic watch the birdie…"

I am always transfixed...people long gone. Expressions and emotions that are captured forever. That I could go back...like a film. Like the scene would suddenly colour and move.

All the emotions they must have felt in their long-gone lives...

Euroyank: Thanks for visiting; i loved looking at your cards. Strange to say i had my first luxembourg card only this week...

Have you noticed how good the focusing was on the old cameras? I'm always amazed at how clear the details are.

Henry: two of my favourite blogging men have come back into circulation on the same day! Welcome back. I agree, Look at how she is holding onto her daddy's hand. He can protect her from anything! BTW, I wasn't able to comment on your dandelion clock post

love these cards!
Sure was a different time
Children were sadder, and in many ways a lot more mature, had more life skills
Today kids play with webkinz know a lot more about everything that they are not mature enough to handle

I don't know I like the slower pace of life Too bad we can't mix the two.

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that the New Year is good to you and your family

aladyslife: I think that perhaps smiling at the camera is something that developed over time. She wouldn't be used to strangers (someone from another village or town)and cameras must have looked pretty sinister!

As you say, it's a pity we can't mix the best from past and present.
