Two Lovers

1. I’ll lay the world at your feet. 2. Your every wish is my command. 3. You must believe in my ‘star’

4. Close to you I am but mere man. 5. As my son resembles you…

One of the nicest parts of what I do is finding treasures like this little set of postcards. The lovers were photographed by Henri Manuel, a famous French photographer. Sent in the spring of 1911, I was disappointed to find that they weren’t love letters at all, but family correspondence.

As usual touching and beautiful.

On my blog, I have put two "references": One for Dr. John, one for Baron's Life. If you don't mind, I will put one for you too.

Peter: I feel very honoured. Henri Manuel was very gifted.

Hey Anji.

For some reason, fate keeps bringing me back to your blog, and especially to that very fabulous post of yours!

I found the words timelessly touching, and that adds more beauty to your elegant web page.

Rock on, lady! :)

Wilmaryad..: thank you. I was very pleased when I came across this set of cards. It will be sad to see them go

Why would you see those beautiful cards go?

Wilmaryad: Because I sell them on eBay, that's how I make a living. I do know that they will go to a good home so that's some comfort. The 'Our Postcards' banner at the top is a link to our shop

Interesting!

Do you make the postcards?

Wilmaryad: No, they are vintage postcards, we buy them at 'real' auctions. I scan them with a red background so that they really stand out. We started off by collecting some and then selling on the duplicates that we had over time, the rest is history...

Keep up the good work :)

All the best!
