Wedding Lace

If you’ve read this blog for a while I think you’ll know that I like lace costume postcards. This is a local traditional wedding outfit. As always with most of the older photographs the details are really in focus and clear.

I imagine that mothers, grandmothers, aunts and big sisters probably started making lace for the future ‘big day’ as soon as a baby girl was born.

A lady's Life: I'd love to learn how to make lace too; if only i had the time.

DB: As far as I know, no But there are plenty of girls who still marry in white. The bridal shops in La Rochelle are very chic and expensive.

Sarah: let me know if you ever find any!

That is beautiful! It reminds me of a German book I read recently called "The Green Silkcloth" that was passed down from generation to generation.
Oh, thanks for letting me know about the Heidi sequels..I had no idea! I will try to find them.

Elisa: I'll look out for the book. I think that you will enjoy the Heidi sequels if you can find them.

Bing: The old traditions are disappearing. Lace made in Calais and designed in the UK was recently used for a royal wedding dress.

Judy: Thank you for the award. I'm really sorry I haven't got round to sorting it out yet. I'm enjoying your blog too.
