Serenity

Another card from Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. This lady is from the Caucasus. I’ve been trying to find out where by searching for the lace in the internet. No luck so far.

Hi Angie and thanks for approving borderLines - Yes maybe you are the little cat :)

This card is beautiful...I know no French, :( but can read 'My Dear Paul at the start and...and Cordial Wishes at the end. It looks like a letter on a postcard.

Thank you. I can't translate this one the handwriting is too difficult.

You are correct about the greetings, though the end is a cordial handshake! Well, they were French.

Sometimes people would write horozontally and then vertically to get more onto the card. It can be readable - just about.

I used to write vertically on the back of postcards I sent to my parents...just to get more on the card :)

A Lady's Life: Thank you for taking the time to do that.

Anji You are welcome. Do you think the lace is hand made?
Most things were in those days as things were otherwise hard to come by.

A lady's Life: It certainly could have been. Dom went to stay with a Russian family a few years ago and came back with lace that they had made for me!
