Château de Chillon

I mentioned to Peter the other day that I didn’t have any cards of Chillon castle. Well now I’ve come across two while sorting out the cards from last months auction – yes, I’m still working on them!

The coloured card is pre 1903 and I presume the flowery attachment would have been artificial edelweiss. The black and white card I would describe as semi-modern which would be after 1945 - I could be wrong.
Click on the cards to see them more clearly.

Wow! I've actually been there. 15 years ago or something. A beautiful castle indeed. Have a great summer, Anji!

It still looks the same today. It belongs to the Government of Vaud which maintains it constantly. The castle gets some 300'000 visitors a year from all over the world. The mountain behind is the "Dents de Midi". And though it is my home, I don't get homesick looking at these two beautiful cards.

Thank you very much for posting them.

Peter

Willow: it's a small world!

worldman: I thought it strange that as soon as I said I didn't have a card I found two!
